politics, art, vegan, Melbourne, life, and just stuff…

Ok, interesting topic – but recently we’ve seen two footballers in separate cases been caught out by the police for urinating in public. Sure it’s not legal, but do these two individuals deserve a trial-by-media?

I’m not quite sure what part of the media makes the reporting of this news-worthy. Requiring the players teams to “do something about it” is just a bit silly really. If they were anyone else this wouldn’t be a news story but for some reason the Australian media likes to put our sports people up on a pedestal so high that they lose their own rights to privacy.

We could place our scientists, authors, or movie directors under the same microscope but we don’t. I think it’s about time we look at football as “just a game” and get on with the reporting of real news in our media.
