For the second day in a row, a day to mark the start of the sixth year of the US-led invasion of Iraq has seen Katyusha rockets hit the green zone.
The green zone is apparently the safest zone in Iraq yet it’s seen double digits death in the last two days. It would seem that the USA cannot protect the Iraqi government whose offices are situated in this green zone.
What does this mean six years and moving on? Was Saddam as bad as the US? We wont know, the US has refused to count the number of Iraqi’s they kill.
All we know is that Iraq is not a safe place to be, and that’s regardless of nationality, race, gender, or sexuality. Everyone dies.
The only hope we can have is that Iraq can tackle autonomous control without genocide. Previously, in NATO, or UN, we’ve called this “peace keeping” however the US refuses to list alternate opinions.
I feel the only path here is one of observance, one where we prevent genocide and give leeway to autonomy.
