Nelson, Liberals – confused about what message they’re sending
Filed Under Australian Politics, International Politics
It would appear that Brendan Nelson isn’t quite sure what he means. In recent media he’s come out saying Prime Minister Rudd’s overseas trip of seventeen days is too long. In the same message to media he said that PM Rudd should also be visiting Japan to talk about whaling.
In what appears to be a poor choice of leadership opposition leader Nelson shows signs of wear and tear, a tired leader heading up a party that no longer knows where it sits in the political spectrum of Australia.
In recent support they came out supporting a message of sorry to Indigenous Australians, people that their previous leader refused to apologise to. They’ve also said they support the signing of the Kyoto protocol on climate change, something their previous leader was stern (or should that be Stern)that we should not be a part of.
Now recently they’ve come out in support of diplomatic discussions with Japan over whaling, yet they don’t seem to agree with the Prime Minister going there… no wait, they do… oh I’m so confused, I’m having a bit of a Nelson moment.
