Sydney water bills to rise $203

Sydney wants a desalination plant, the cost? $203 per year for each household according to Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART).

Glen Eira’s ‘no’ to same-sex list

Whilst it is inevitable that the Victorian State government will push through legislation to allow the recognition of same-sex relationships it seems that the council of Glen Eira disagrees.
Whilst the councils of Melbourne, Yarra, and Port Phillip have shown support for the idea of same-sex relationship entitlements, Glen Eira hasn’t.

Council suspends talk on desalination plant

Direct from The Age, the council which surrounds the Victorian desalination project has changed their mind on the entire deal. Quoting The Age:
The seven-member Bass Coast Shire Council said the Government’s current process lacked transparency and genuine community consultation, and voted four-three to “withdraw from all discussions” with the State Government.
